Apstra Introduces the First Universal ZTP Server for Multi-Vendor Data Center Networks
SANTA CLARA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#SDN—OCP US SUMMIT 2017 – The networking community has long needed a
vendor-agnostic approach to bootstrapping a multi-vendor network. Apstra®,
Inc. today launched its community
initiative and announced its first open source project: Aeon-ZTPS.
Apstra will be demonstrating the universal Zero-Touch Provisioning
Server (ZTPS) and the Apstra Operating System™(AOS) at the Open
Compute Project (OCP) Summit, March 8-9, 2017 in Santa Clara, CA.
“Aeon-ZTPS is an easy, low-risk approach to automate the drudgery of
bootstrapping different vendor devices. It gives you the confidence in
the journey to decouple networking tasks from underlying device
specificity. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to give back to
the networking community with Aeon-ZTPS, our first open source project.
We look forward to growing this project, the first of more to come this
year,” said Jeremy Schulman, Head of Customer Enablement at Apstra.
Apstra developed Aeon-ZTPS to help bootstrap devices as part of its
flagship product, AOS, and is releasing it as a stand-alone project in
response to customer demand. The Aeon-ZTPS is:
• |
Agnostic to vendors | |
• |
Extensible to future devices
• |
Fast, reliable, and transparent
The Aeon-ZTPS
is available today.

About Apstra, Inc.
Apstra® is redefining the way
networks are designed, deployed and operated to enable a Self
Operating Network™ (SON) without vendor lock-in. Apstra solves two
critical problems today: the management of scalable distributed state,
and providing the abstraction required to automatically translate user
intent into a continuously validated infrastructure that delivers on
this intent. The Apstra
Operating System™(AOS) is a distributed operating system for
the data center network that is vendor-agnostic, intent-driven, and
closed loop.
